Create new row and database record SQL

Question

Please help I have created a database called MoToGP in my project and have tested the connection successfully when creating a new record via button_click event the attached connection error appears why? :-( Please help...

Previously you said SQL Server Compact so I was not sure I understood. I will assume that that is not relevant. For me the three services you describe are the same for me. The browser I think is just for other computers for connecting to your system and it is a security risk to run it so Microsoft does not want you to use the browser unless you are sure you must use it and are aware of the risks. I also am unable to start the Agent so I assume that is normal. The repair failed right? So it likely found the problem or at least a relevant symptom. It said that a file cannot be copied. It says that is an error. I see that you have both SQL Server 20008 and SQL Server2005 in your system; at least pieces. So perhaps a piece of 2005 is interfering with 2008. I don't know; that is only a guess. Can you uninstall SQL Server 2005? If you can and then do a repair of 2008 then I hope that willl fix the problem.

Ok this is the error message I get: A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) This above message appears whith Microsoft SQL Server Database File NORTHWIND.MDF with Shippers Table.I have SQL Server 2008 R2 installed and SQLEXPRESS(SQL Server 10.50.1600) is running. Additional info : When I right click on NORTHWIND.MDF in VS Server Explorer and select Modify Connection and then click Test Connection  the message Test Connection succeeded appears. In VS (Visual Studio) I am able to view all tables and records in NORTHWIND.DMF. When I compile the project and I run code to add records or rows the above error message (in italic) appears. Some useless information: The same error message appears if I compile the same project with Compact 3.5. Also not sure if the following info is relevant but in SQL Server 2008 R2 - Configuration Tools - SQL Server Configuration Manager - There are 3 items in the window the first item SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) state = running start mode = Automatic. The second item is SQL Server Agent (SQLEXPRESS) state = stopped start mode = other(boot...). The third item is SQL Server Browser with state = stopped start mode = Other(boot...). There is nothing I can do to get the last two item state to running they don't want to run and never have. Hi I have just compiled a previously completed project (different project) with SQL Compact 3.5 and received the same error. I can successfully add a new data source and link the DataGridView but when I compile any project with SQL Compact 3.5 Table (.sdf) the error appears also when executing an .exe project. metadata=res://*/Model1.csdl|res://*/Model1.ssdl|res://*/Model1.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlServerCe.3.5;provider connection string=Data Source=C:\GERHARD\ITTC\SQL\MyDatabase#1.sdf Data Source=C:\GERHARD\ITTC\SQL\MyDatabase#1.sdf

Can you provide connection string (without password)? Your program cannot connect to SQL server because machine itself is inaccessible or SQL server is configured so that it doesn't allow remote connections. Connecting didn't come to a phase of sending credentials; even more connection was not actively refused by SQL server. Another possibility is that firewall is blocking connections but I can't say without connection string.

If you are using SQL CE then it is not possible for you to receive the same error message you posted previously since the previous error was from SQL Server. It is important that we have the complete and accurate error message since that is the only useful information provided heredescribing the problem.
