I don't hear anything in that video that relates sweatshops in China to technology exclusively. The Chinese government allows bad labor conditions to exist for many products. The video mentions Nike; there are other brands of shoes and clothing that are also made by bad labor conditions in China. The Business & Human Rights site is one site I found with relevant articles and I am sure there are many more. The article Death of 'Shoe Town' could spell end to China's sweatshops describes the use of technology to help Chinese citizens avoid being victomized by shoe sweatshops.
