Database compatibility issue error

Whenever i try to connect to an mssql database built with 2008 R2 version it throws this error.

I think you are trying to attach an SQL Server 2008 R2 database which is 661 in SQL Server 2008 database which is 655 version. Am talking about database instance here. You must install SQL Server 2008 R2 and attach the database.
