Datagrid

Question

This problem is probably a simple one. It’s very annoying though. I’m trying to display data in the datagrid. But instead of showing the data the grid shows the label for the OleDbDataAdapter and then I have to click on it to get the grid to display the data. Whats the problem? There is another datagrid issue that I would like to get a good link foor. I would like to display a selected Item in the datagrid in a couple of textfields. Where I can get an example of this?

DataGrid1.DataMember = tblForfattare This line did the trick. If you leave this one out you have to click on the label for the dataset.

As far as with your first problem you need to initialize your datagrid maybe after the intialitize component section in your code. Also looking to a property called columnheaders in your datagrid that could be another solution. To answer you second question. All you have to use the command class or dataadapter class to retrieve values from your text fields. You might want to use some utility functions to properly formatt the users data and send them back to be enter into your database. Remember with ADO.NET your working on a disconnected archtecture so make sure the that data that you enter in the database is in proper format.
