hai i have a form with 2 datagridview .datagridview1 contains the columns nocodeitemdescriptionunitqtyratevalue. when i enter the value of code in datagridview1 iwant to display itemdescriptionunitprice into datagridview2 and also the column no in datagridview1 automatically incremented. plz help.

That sounds like a master/detail type of form. In other words you have a table of master records and for each master record there can be multiple detail records. Does that sound correct? So look for articles about that. Note that the solution depends on what you are already using in you application. If someone gives you a detailed answer it might be useless to you if you are using something different to access the database. So if you can provide a little more information about what you are using to access the database and/or what you are familiar with then that will help others to help you. I see in your other thread that you are using the .NET Framework Data Provider for SQL Server such as SqlConnection in the System.Data.SqlClient namespace. Is that what you prefer to use? It will be less work if you use data binding; you might need to spend more time learning about datga binding but it can save you time later.
