Hi Experts...I would like to know Dataset is a Value type or Reference type... Thanks in Advance...

Hi Shivraj, The DataSet is object type and it will have the reference in the hash memory. It is called Reference Type, which will be stored in the Hash memory. It is managed code and runs under the CLR, the garbage collection will be running to clear the reference when this object no longer needed. When the DataSet is intantiated the object will have the reference in the memory. It belongs to the System.Data namespace. When you want to release the memory to increase the performance of the application then it can be disposed the object from the hash memory. DataSet dsEmployees = new DataSet(); //Create the object dsEmployees.Dispose(); //Release the object from the hash memory. Hope this will help you to understand about the dataset. hi dataset supports both types.because we are store the entire table or collection of tables.by using index we can get the that particular table .
