Hello Datatable column is typeof decimal.How can we add string value to this column. thanks

Incidentally, Turan, if you would be happy to assign some arbitrary value (say 0) to a decimal column if the string couldn't be parsed to a decimal, then you could do this: string decStr = "Name"; decimal dec; Decimal.TryParse(decStr, out dec); dr["Amount"] = dec; // assigns 0 to the column as 'dec' will be 0 if decStr can't be converted

Yes, but in that case, the type of the column should be string rather than decimal as you're going to have problems not just with the C# code but with the database itself if you try to assign arbitrary strings to a decimal column.
