If you're going to use the AM/PM specifier tt then hours should be specified using the 12 hour clock i.e. hh instead of HH: DateTime frmDate = DateTime.ParseExact(txtfrmDt.Text yyyy/M/d hh:mm:ss tt CultureInfo.InvariantCulture);
