delete image in datagrid

Question

Hi!
i am using datagrid to display images, when i click delete link button (this delete link button code is write in delete command)
that row is deleted. but my doubt is image is also deleted in that saved location.
means that datagrid images are saved in my projects images folder. when i click delete button that image is also deleted in images folder. how can i do it. please give an idea, or give a code to do this.

Hi friend here is your code: String imagePath = ~/ContentImages/Products/ + Image; System.IO.FileInfo file1 = new System.IO.FileInfo(Server.MapPath(imagePath)); file1.Delete(); Place this code in your Delete event and its done. Don't forget to mark as answer.

HI Amit i am using ur code. i.e. String imagePath = ~/ContentImages/Products/ + Image; i am writing this line in vb.net like. dim imagepath as string imagepath = server.mappath(~/Images/) & Image here it show a error in Image place. That error is 'Image' is a type and cannot used as an expression . so in place of image i write image1.imageurl this time error occur in runtime i.e. it display access is denied. and i am also try imagepath = ~/Images/ & Water lilies.jpg Dim Photo As System.IO.FileInfo photo = New System.IO.FileInfo(Server.MapPath(imagepath)) photo.Delete() it is working. it deletes image in saved images folder.and this folder is inside the project. but i every time specify image file name. instead of specify the image file name then what i write that place. please help me .and correct this. and one more doubt what is Image in ur code. String imagePath = ~/ContentImages/Products/ + Image ; give a reply as soon as possible. Thanks

hi ajay check your Authenticaiton mode =windows in your web.config. and also try to save your images to a folder inside your project not outside. hope it help you to solve your problem.

Hi Amit Thank u for giving code i am using this one error is occured in run time. i.e. Access To the path 'C:	emp' is denied. how can we solve this error and delete the image in specified image folder. please give replay. thanks.

you need to store . path like /imgs/image.jpg while storing it into database dont store actual disk path got from server.mapPath()

Is your problem solved? The critical issue is that you need to have the directory and filename of the image file; if you have that then deleting the file is easy. Note that deleting the file is not normal for images shown in a DataGrid so there is not anything that will do that automatically. You need to design a way to save the directory and filename so you can use that when you need to delete the file.
