Deploying asp.net 2010 ReportViewer problem in Win Server 2003 on IIS 6

Question

I am facing issue while deploying asp.net 2010 application containing ReportViewer. I even installed Microsoft Report Viewer Redistributable 2010 in the server, but even then I am just getting totally blank and no images.

Any ideas on this please.

Have you installed the same version of SQL Server on the server that exists on your local system?

Does the query for the report require parameters? If so can you confirm that they are being set correctly before the report is run? Does the web server have access to the database? Can they ping each other? Does the user account that the web application runs under have access to the folder where the rpt files are stored?

Hi try to copy asp.net_client from C:\Inetpub\wwwroot in to your source folder install report distribution. If it doesn't help try to install report 2010.

Hi John Seems you are right. I have my local Sql Server Compact 4.0 DB added under App_Data and I am using following connection string to acces the DB. add name =  Bugs_RepConnectionString  connectionString =  Data Source=|DataDirectory|\Bugs_Rep.sdf  providerName =  System.Data.SqlServerCe.4.0  /> connectionStrings > I am able to connect and query this DB from local machine. But when I deployed it its not connecting. What should I change here... connectionStrings >

Hi it is working in fine at me local machine. I have made sure that all the query strings are correct and report files are copied at required path. Reports are loading blank and no data is been displayed. and I have event view log as Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft ReportViewer 2010 Redistributable. Let's cover the basics 1st: 1) Are there any exceptions being thrown? Anything in the server's event logs? 2) Is the rpt file that the reportviewer is accessing present on the server? Does the reportviewer have the correct path to the rpt file? 3) Does the query for the report return any data with the default parameters?
