Details of Client-side and server-side code

Question

Hi Everyone I am Rajesh. I am a beginner in asp.net 4.0. And i need to have clarification regarding the client-side and server-side coding in asp.net. So please suggest me or Let me know the actual difference between client-side code and server-side code with an example. Thanks in advance. Rajesh.

Microsoft uses confusing terminology. In the context of ASP the terms server-side and client-side is very confusing. In ASP client-side does not mean client-side. I am not sure what it means but it does not mean what we assume it means. Prabhu said  This means that page which client sees doesn't exist anywhere on the server in such form. . That of course is accurate. I just want to add that it is my understanding that client-side is processing done after server-side processing is done but it is done in the server. Confusing? The only thing I know for sure is that it is confusing. I think one thing that is important is that processing done in the client is not the same as client-side processing. Do not look for explanations in the Microsoft documentaion (MSDN); it will just confuse you.

Hi rajesh Server side Server side script are processed at server after server get request for a asp.net page. After received request form an asp.net page  server is processing request with Server side Script and it generates HTML code that is sent to a client. This means that page which client sees doesn't exist anywhere on the server in such form. Client side Main an most used language of client side group is JavaScript. Code written in Javascript is often included in an basic HTML code and it's executed at the client explorer. This kind of code is visible to everybody. Thank You

Client Side code is the code that is processed by the client (in web applications by client browser). This code is usually written using scripting languages (usually javascript). Generally client side script is used for performing dynamic effects such as image rollovers displaying message boxes validation of data entered into a form etc. Server Side code is the code that is executed on the server. In the case of ASP.Net this is the code written using compiled lanuages like C# VB.Net etc. Used for processing complex business logic fetching and returning data.
