Develop codes by modular format

Question

Hi I am doing a project that have different specification such as search for the product type using a search tab panel. Afterwhich I can also download the product catalog and save to my desktop. How do I make use of .net c#(Visual Studio 2008) to develop this codes in modular and link to the database(Mircrosoft server 2008)? Can you guys give me any samples of tutorial cause I cant seem to find it online. Thanks!

Thanks. The tutorial I have seen it but I am unclear of it. For example in the search panel that is used for searching the product catalogue how do I develp it in modular. Can you explain the term 'Develop Code in modular' in a more simpler term? Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Thanks.

Thanks. Is it that I have to create a class that stores all my variables and data types? How do I make use of this to connect to the database?

The simplest way would be to divide the application into 3 layers: presentation layer which contains all the UI and front end data access layer which contains all data handling operations business logic layer which does the processing tasks
