hiii its have a simple way to understand.. c# is a language and .net is a framework, so if you say about c# developer you just talk about c# application development but when you sai for .net developer you must specify on which language you working like vb.net,c#.net etc..

The .NET platform was designed to be 'language agnostic' and there are compilers for a large number of languages. The more commonly used.NET languages are C#, VB.NET, C++/CLI, F#, IronPython and IronRuby. Of these C# and VB.NET are by far the most popular and I would say that, nowadays, C# is the most popular of all. So the difference between a C# and a .NET developer is that the former exclusively uses C# but the latter may use several languages.

Hi Shruthi, Well, Keeping it simple, I would like to let you clarify that C# is a language whereas .NET is something that we call a Platform. It's a framework which gives you the ability to use various namespaces, classes, interfaces etc that comes prepackaged, I mean which are included in .NET framework. Now, coming to your point, be clear, if you're a C# developer then you develop apps using C# language only. If you mean to say a .NET developer then it comprises to cover more than a single or specific language covered by you. It means you can develop with C#, VB, C++ and/or more.
