I agree of course that my knowledge of these matters is an amalgam of what I've read or heard people say in the past but the point I wanted to make is that I haven't actually copied my answer from anywhere - the words (however inadequate) are my own. It therefore looked strange when you came up with similar words without acknowledging that you were trying to improve on my descriptions. Anyway let's forget about it and get on with answering other questions :)

Vulpes It is good that you have pointed out my mistake. I was only trying to resolve the confusion of sanjai kangamuthu about the three terms. I thing U have not been developed the DLL and the Definition of DLL. What ever you have express u also have read some where.If You feel that u have copy right on it. I am very very sorry to re-writting your word. Rest I am contributing to this site to help other and not in compitition with any one.

Om prakash Singh I hope you're not expecting us to believe that you've come up with your descriptions independently - your description of dll is 'word for word' the same as mine. If you think that my descriptions can be improved upon then I don't mind you rewriting or adding to them but please acknowledge that this is what you've done.

The definition are basic that define the three terms. Where ever you will read all people will tell u the same in there words.If really you are curious then understand the words. But if you are not then carry on searching who is coping from where.

Namespaces are logical collection of your classes structs and other types. A namespace may contain classes present in different assemblies.Namespace are way of preventing naming conflicts (types must have unique names within a namespace) and making it easier to find your types. Assemblies are the physical collection of your classes structs and other types bind into single unit. They may be either executables (.exe files) or libraries (.dll files). Dll is an abbreviation for 'dynamic link library' which is a binary file which is not itself executable but provides library types for other assemblies to use. It is loaded into a process at runtime (i.e. dynamically) rather than linked to the assembly statically at compile time.
