Difference between Asp.net HTML controls and web controls

hi all can anybody tell my microsoft has provided two types of controls and what are the differen ces between them.

hi Well well server controls from the name run on the server which means the code in the server controls is delt with on the server a good reason for providing both server and HTML controls. a good welling to share NOTE : server control take longer time to load or adds an extra load on the page therefore too many server controls can make the page take a longer time to display or to load.

Hi HTML controls can run without being declared in the code behind whereas Webcontrols declare themselves in the code behind and are drawn to the screen by the server when the page is loaded. You cannot use Webcontrols in a standard HTML page they need to be in an ASP page. HTML controls can be in both and can be made to run as server controls using an id and the runat=server.
