When u create a website then u should publish it before deploy. But in web application it will not. U can create web site with VSVS Express Visual web developer. But Web application create in VS Professional and above version. Web site has only two page one is .aspx and another is code behind .aspx.cs but in web application we have three page one is .aspx.aspx.cs and .aspx.designer.cs When create web application we find several dll for each web page but in Web application we find only one dll in Bin folder.
