Difference between XP batch files and linux shell scrips

Question

I need to know the major differences and benefits between batch files in XP and linux shell scrips. Can someone help me out?

Friend batch scrips are used under windows environment . while shell scripts are used under UNIX/Linux Environment . batch scripts are more simpler then shell script . batch script has less features then shell script . right now Microsoft has also introduced new scripting for windows called windows Power script :) if my answer helps you please check Do you like this answer  :)

Hai... Batch programming is also called as windows shell scripting...Forgetting about their basic difference it;s in which O.S u are very much comfortable in Windows or Linux and learn accordingly.Both language have all the neccessary command to perform the work.. Batch porgramming is very much easier to learn for people who know windows very well...And what i heard is Linux shell scripting is powerful unless u know the linux very well.. This message is to just give a idea before starting ur work.. Hope it helps..
