Kavita it helps to put everything in the body of the question. For this thread you have Difference b/w windows form and inherited form but in the body you just say What is a master?. When I look at questions to answer I select many at a time and open each one in a separate browser window. So when I look at the question I have forgotten what the subject says. So when I looked at your question I only saw What is a master?. Fortunately Vulpes saw the part of the question that you put in the subject.

When you create a Windows Forms application in Visual Studio then the main form automatically inherits from the System.Windows.Forms.Form class which contains the basic infrastructure for all forms. So in a sense the main form is a custom form which contains various controls and eventhandlers for both its own events and its controls' events. Other forms you add to your project can likewise inherit from Form or could inherit from some existing derived class of Form. So you could create a 'master' form with certain basic controls eventhandlers etc. and then your other forms could inherit from that rather than the 'clean slate' approach of inheriting directly from Form.
