Hii All What is the main difference between 'System Testing' and 'Integration Testing'..?

Integration testing is a logical extension of unit testing. When two units that have already been tested are combined into a component and the interface between them is tested. A component in this sense refers to an integrated aggregate of more than one unit. In a realistic scenario many units are combined into components which are in turn aggregated into even larger parts of the program. The idea is to test combination of pieces and eventually expand the process to test your modules with those of other groups. Eventually all the modules making up a process are tested together. Integration testing identifies problems that occur when units are combined. Testing of integrated modules to verify combined functionality after integration. Modules are typically code modules individual applications client and server applications on a network etc. This type of testing is especially relevant to client/server and distributed systems. System testing: Entire system is tested as per the requirements. Black-box type testing that is based on overall requirements specifications covers all combined parts of a system. System testing of software is testing conducted on a complete integrated system to evaluate the system's compliance with its specified requirements. System testing falls within the scope of black box testing and as such should require no knowledge of the inner design of the code or logic. System testing is performed on the entire system in the context of a Functional Requirement Specification (FRS) and/or a System Requirement Specification (SRS). System testing tests not only the design but also the behaviour and even the believed expectations of the customer. It is also intended to test up to and beyond the bounds defined in the software/hardware requirements specification.

Integraion Testing means combining the modules together and testing inorder to find errors means we are checking one by one each module where as system testing is one which is testing the whole systemmeans we combining every module and check.

Well I can't give you a code example as integration testing is really for large projects which can be split into separate modules during development and then combined to form the final product. However a very simple example would be where you have an application which reads data from a database processes it prints out the results to a printer and then resaves them to the database. You could split this project up into (at least) 4 modules one for each phase of the project. When developing the 'processing' module it would be sensible as a temporary expedient to create some sample data in memory which you process and then save the results back to memory. The interface for reading and writing this data should be designed to be as close as possible to the one needed to read/write data from/to a database rather than memory so that the first and fourth modules can easily be slotted in. Similarly when printing out the results you could design an interface which temporarily prints the results to the screen or a text file rather than to an actual printer so that the third module can easily be integrated. After you've built and unit tested each of these modules you could then move onto integration testing by attempting to integrate the first and second modules then add the third module and finally the fourth module. Finally you can move onto system testing i.e. testing the application as a whole.

With 'integration testing' you integrate the modules of your program one by one to check that they work as a group. Once you've done that you then move onto 'system testing' to test the program as a whole.
