Hi What are the major differences between services and Web services ?

Web services can be hosted only in IIS and outside IIS too. WCF service can be hosted in IIS, Windows Applications, Windows Services, WAS, self hosting and on lot of protocols like Named pipe, TCP/IP and others. In web services web service attribute will be added on top the class. In WCF we have service contract attributes added at the same place. Web Method are added at the top of method in web service where as operation contract will be added on top method. In Webservices xml serialization is supported whereas in WCF system.runtime.serialization is supported. WCF services can be multithreaded via service behavior configuration whereas web services cannot be. WCF services support many bindings like basichttp, wshttp, wsdualhttp etc while web services support only soap or xml.
