display data in gridview

hi friends..
can anybody tell me how to display data from database to datagrid view in asp.net using c

i used datagrid.datasource=dataset.tables[0];
datagrid.databind();

but i can see data in gridview........

plz help me

if you dont find data in the grid then following reasons can be there: 1) Your dataset dont have datatable in it 2)Your Table should contain data

On the face of it your code is correct. Are you sure there are some rows in Tables[0]? To make sure try printing dataset.Tables[0].Rows.Count.ToString() to a label.
