Displaying pdf file on link click

Question

Hi!!

i've some dynamic pages in which i'm rendering the content of the page from the database, if there is any pdf file uploaded i'm showing a link to the user..

Now when user clicks on the link i just need to display the file content even if there no supporting readers like acrobat reader or any thing installed on the user system..How can i acheive this ???

If you are using a viewer the processing will be done at the server level and even if the user doesn't have adobe they should be able to see it. If you are not sure I know websupergoo can convert a pdf into an image.

Hi! Is there any way to incorporate the pdf viewer into our website that should support user even his machine is without any software...is there any plug-ins for that?? thank you...

syed I don't think you have a way around the user not having the software to support your pdf if you are placing the responsibility on them to open the files. If you want to display the pdfs in html or asp.net you will need a control like the one offer by websupergoo . you may use also System. Diagonastic. process start(your file name.pdf); if in customer side Adobe reader is not installed then a window will automatic show  Open with  dialog. as usual customer would browse for correct application or he/she can close app. that's it. Thank you!

Thanx maninder... The code works fine if supporting software is installed on the client side but what i need is it should display the content even if supporting software is not installed on the client side.. awaiting for ur help....
