can anybody will tell me the difference between the .dll and a assembly.

There are two types of .NET assemblies: 1. 'exes' which can be executed on their own and begin execution at their Main() method. 2. 'dlls' which cannot be executed on their own but provide library classes for use by other exes or dlls. So a .NET dll is in fact a type of assembly which has no entrypoint i.e. no Main() method.
