Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows = !=  >= or when the subquery is used as an expression.

your sub query return more then value. please check duplicate data or use select distinct name select top 1 name

You should use in or exists operator when you think your sub query will return more than one rows. Here's an examples SELECT EmployeeName From Employee Where EmplId In ( Select EmpId From EmployeeAddress) SELECT EmployeeName From Employee A Where Exists ( Select EmpId From EmployeeAddress B Where A.EmplId = B.EmpId )
