Question

Hi! I have an application which contains 2 components: a server component (C#) and a client component (asp.net). both components use the same database developped in sql server. if one component is running and if i'm trying to run the other i get this error: Unable to copy file. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process . What should i do?thanks!

If both of your components are not using any I/O file then why you are getting error Unable to copy file .... Database can always be shared at the same time by two different components unless you put any table lock or use transaction etc. Let me know your issue in more detail or send the piece of code where both the components are using the DB and you get error.

So your both the components access a same shared file all the time? Is it the case? Can I know both components just read the file OR one is reader & another is writer?

Make sure that you close the file stream object once you are done your work in one of your component. Aslong as file stream is open other process would think that file is in use.
