open command prompt and run netstat -b -a will list all the port details. I will suggest contact your network team to have a check.

Hi May be this is an issue with binding conflict. There is another application that is using port 80. If you change the bindings for the default website to 8080 [for test purpose] it will work. You can run NETSTAT -ano in commant prompt and find out the PID for the process that is using port 80 then you can compare that PID with the process name in task manager[may be skype.exe?]. Or try this just change the port from IIS -> Default WebSite(right click) -> Properties -> ASP.NET(tab) -> port -> in this location change the port and click ok. May be this helps you.

I am not an expert of this but i google about the error which you posted this site says that the problem is because of the port number 80. hence check this link: http://forums.iis.net/t/1086489.aspx and let me know still have any concerns.

@Datta Here i am refereing to IIS..In the IIS Manager under websites and under default website(stopped).. i right clicked on the default website and tried to start it as it was stopped... But i got the the error which i mentioned ERROR:The process cannot access tye file because it is being used by another process Please can someone guide me what is the solution for this?

Hi.. Describe your question in detail when you did get error? I am telling one case:- If you are using sql server db file (sampledb.mdf) then you want move or copy this file it doesn't move or copy in that case you should stop the process of sql server or kill the process of file using UNLOCKER software. Using that software you can kill process any file which is used by another process. If your case is different then inform me?
