Export any document(.doc, .pdf, etc) to xml using C#

Question

Hi!
I have a requirement to export any document irrespective of its format into xml in C#. Basically I have created a web part on a sharepoint site, which would have a button to export all the files selected from the available sp grid to be exported into xml. Need to export the metadata from the grid and the contents of the file.
Any help in this regard would be great.
