File upload in mvc

Question

if file is open then i want to show the validation file is already open first close on uploading the same already open file.please help me regarding fileupload

First let me know the some more information like 1) What is the location of your path? Does you are storing this file name into a database? 2) Are you storing your file into a server / some folder location of your project? 3) While uploading the file what about naming convention you are currenly using to store that file on perticular location? You can do some code by using below situations Step 1: While uploading your file into a perticular location / database (if you are storing name of into a table) take one bool flag which at the time of file uplaod make it false (add mode). Step 2: if user is going to edit this file (edit mode) then make the flag to true so this will false after your edit operation of get completed. So in this case if you are going to edit the same file then if flag is true then show a message  file is already open first close . Step 3: If you are using some standard naming convention while storing any file then from these file names you can check wheather the file is already exists of not. Hope you understand the above. thanks for your sugestion but i am looking for validation  if file is open then i want to show the validation file is already open first close.i have already implemented file upload part.want to implement for validation for open file then give the message for file is already in use. on uploading the same file which is opened. can u tell me how to know my excel file is open or not .
