Filter valid Date form table

I want to filter the only Date and exclude string characters and number from the table. DOB Column is string type

first of all let me start by saying your table design is wrong if you are storing dates in a non-datetime column I'm not sure how this design is useful. I suggest to change to proper data types. let's concentrate on your question now. you can use IsDate() function in MS SQL Server to check if value is valid date or not. something like: select * from mytable where Dob is not null and isdate(Dob) = 1
