There are very many very experienced developers that also want suggestions for projects. If you want to just show what you are capable of doing you could look for projects that others have done and see how well you can do them.

davy I would do something that showcases everything you have learned and new concepts and implementations. There is a lot of buzz for Silverlight/XNA/Windows 7 Mobile so that is a good place to go if you want to do it in C#. Other possible options are the new MEF in .NET 4.0 if you want to create useful extensions for Visual Studio 2010.
