sheet.rows.count is give the entire row count i want only non empty rows at the same time i am not interest to ado .net here

You can use the Office Interoff component to read the excel file. Use Microsoft.ExcelLibrary10.0 or 11.0 or 12.0 Use ExcelApplication ExcelWork and Excel Sheet class and open the specific excel file. Read the excel row and check for nonempty Or You can read the excel using OLEDB object and the excel data will be converted to DataSet. Once it read  you can see the no of rows available in the DataSet and that will be the End of the Excel Sheet data
