Fire a event for a user control(not in a webserver controls event)

Question

What actaully I want is to handle a event for a user control which has to be fired as normal events work for server controls ie., the user controls events should not be fired in the server control event, is it posssible? I am creating a user control using a custom control DataGrid .Is it possible for me to fire a event as Editcommand event ie., myevent(doubleclick a datagrid) should be fired when a user (ie., when he/she double clicks it ) does the action not in already defined events of a datagrid? Thank you
