Foot Switch with Serial Port

Question

Hello All I am working on a project(3.5) where i need to perform some operations with button Pressed of foot switch I am using SerialPort to Connect to the foot switch and capturing output from pinchanged event there are two buttons on my foot pedal When right button is pressed my code works fine and pinchanged event get fired But Its not working when Left button is pressed. Please Help me I am stuck here from two days.

One simple thing you could try if you haven't done so already is to set both the DtrEnable and RtsEnable properties of the SerialPort to true (they're false by default) in case your foot switch is using these signals. Failing that I'd wait for the author of the article to reply in case he has any more ideas.

thats what my problem is No Effect on pinchanged event or any other events like datareceived errorreceived at all when i pressed left Buttonpinchanged event get fired only if i press right button so i checked my foot pedal device but its working fine i dont know what to do now Please help me i Spoke to the author of the post you advised but no reply. Please help.

When you say it's not working when the left button is pressed do you mean that the PinChanged event is not firing at all or it is firing but the code isn't working correctly? If it's not firing at all then it may be a problem with the foot switch itself. Otherwise it may be that the PinChanged event is firing not once but two or more times.
