Form load slow if add background Image

Question

In my windows application I have added one image as form back ground image, then added six buttons, if run the form buttons are displayed one by one, If i remove the back ground image it will display perfectly. can anybody tell me the reason to solve this issue

Ravi: You hit the nail right on the head regarding setting the  backgroundimagelayout to be either 'center' or 'stretch' . That helped speed up my refresh rate dramatically. Thanks.

Make sure your backgroundcolor is not set to 'transparent'. Set to 'white' for better performance. Also do backgroundimagelayout to be either 'center' or 'streach' to increase performance. This will enable the double buffer on the form

Hi am facing the same problem.. i tried applying image from Resources file.. But still its loading slowly ... Can u plz suggest something for this.. ?? Thanks in advance...

Which image format are you using? If you are not using compressed image formats like jpeg give it a try. Furhter you can embed the image as a resource and assign it to the form at runtime
