Generate .xls file using asp.net c# without excel installed

Hi there Hope all are fine... Here I need your ideas and recommendation about a task. I need to generate .xls (excel file) from a machine where excel is not installed. i tried epplus (but it done good job with .xlsx only :)) . So please help to me reach the task... thanks in advance...: )...

Hi is there any way you can change the requirements to generate a newer XLSX format? It is a much easier format to work with anyway (it is XML based) and there are quite some solutions that you can use for it for example: OpenXML SDK If you are stuck with the XLS then all I can suggest you is a third party that I used on few occasions: GemBox.Spreadsheet - an Excel component for .NET It has a free version which has a size limitation so I'm not sure if that will be enough for you.
