GENERATING ALPHA NUMERIC NUMBERS AS PASSWORD

Hi all,

You guys might have applied for any online exams where after the submission a registeration ID(which is a 6-7 digit) and a alpha numeric password.. How to generate alpha numeric password ????? Plzz help me

Use the way which suthish said to create unique ID, And use the way which i have said with one more functionality. Functionality: generatedPassword = CreateRandomPassword(10); while(IsPasswordExists(generatedPassword)) generatedPassword = CreateRandomPassword(10); Where IsPasswordExists(generatedPassword) is a method which checks for the availability of password in the database. If password is exists then it should return true.

Hi all, My problem here is: I want to give the user a registertaion ID and a password(which is a ALPHA NUMERIC PASSWORD) and these 2 should be UNIQUE after the user has submitted an online application... How do i do this please help... @ Suthish Yes these are generated from SQL CODE BEHIND for that user and should be UNIQUE......PLEASE HELP ME FRIENDS

There are 26 upper case letters and 26 lower case letters and 10 digits; that makes 62, correct? When binary data is sent in email, it is often converted to base 64. I don't know what characters are used for the remaining 2 base 64 digits, but do you suppose that would work? I think that a 42-bit number converted to base 64 would be up to 7 digits. Perhaps someone could do the math to verify this. Then it is a matter of generating a 42-bit number, then using the Convert Class to convert it to base 64. One complication is if you must ensure that the registration id has a minimum number of characters (base 64 digits).

Hi, Here ALPHA NUMERIC password is generated AUTOMATICALLY by the system for the people who have registered so that they can use it in future to download the application etc...
