if the name is unique 1. On text box focus change event do a jquery ajax call. 2. this ajax calls a server method that fetches the data from the database 3. in the server method write a query to get the data for the particular user 3. the response of this ajax call can get the details and u can populate. the above method applies when u need to populate result without submission. else call a form.submit() in the focus change event and then in the server method get the data for the corresponding user.
