getting info out of text

Question

Hello if i have this Text: -------------------------------------------- 338 TU REPORT AT 4.55 EFFECTIVE MAY 31 ONLY DAY FLT. EQP DEPARTS ARRIVES BLK. BLK. DUTY CR. 31TU 2078 747 IAD 0625 JFK 0830* 2.05 31TU 2079 747 JFK 1100 IAD 1300 2.00 31TU 747 IAD 1430 LHR 2045 6.15 10.20 15.20 10.20 CREDIT HRS. 10.20 BLK. HRS. 10.20 LDGS: 3 TAFB 15.20 --------------------------------------------- as you see its Plain Text.. now how do i get the info out of it.. for example if i have a class named Flight how do i get each flight of these 3 flights and put its info inside a class... i just need a mechanism to search through the plain text..... i am really confused.. any hints or code please.. thanks in advance....

Hi You can split the text first using the Split method into lines providing a char array as a separator containing one character '
' ..that represrnts the new line then use the split method again to split each line into substrings ..this method returns an array of strings...if u know the sequence of the info in each flight (i'm sure u know) u can easly get the flight information.. char [] charsToBreakIntoLines = new char []{'
'}; //Assuming that myString is the string that represents ur file contents string [] lines= myString.Split(m); for(int i = 0; i < lines.Length; i++) { //Folloe the same sequence to split by spaces } Good luck
