Getting Local IP Address

Question

Apologies if this is the wrong forum but I can't find anything more suitable. I have to obtain the local IP address of a LAN-connected machine. I can find plenty of methods that return ALL local IP addresses for the available connections but is there any way to determine the one that is currently being used ?

I'm not familiar with WMI. Where can I find an example ? Thanks.

use WMI to return list if IP's in all cases i have dealt with the first item in the array is the IP being used.
