getting numbers from a database column

right now i have just a counter and the date like this Counter++; txtWaveNumber.Text = DateTime.Now.ToString(yyMMddhh-  + Counter.ToString().PadLeft(3 '0')); but i need it to check my database which is OrderMaster and table Order

Get max value from the table column and add 1 to it.
