Globalization culture in ASP.net Core

Question

Hi all am working in one MVC application and i published & deployed in locally & in azure. it is working correctly in local but in azure dates are exchanging dd-mm format to mm-dd when i choose date 12-sep-2016 it is saving has 9-dec-2016 How to add globalization culture in ASP.net Core am new to MVC Please provide more details if possible

I would strongly discourage you to change the machine settings. We have no idea how it will affect other things. However this is strictly my personal opinion. If possible please share the code which is making db call to save the data. Alternatively you may just change the formatting to yyyy-mm-dd. As mentioned before it is universally neutral works everywhere! If you still have doubt please share more details and express your doubt.

Hi Nitin Thanks for your suggestion. have u know any idea about how to change/set machine level setting in Azure. i used DateTime format only to save data

While I might be a complete novice in this case from the kind of question to me it doesn't look like a globalization issue. The date-time settings on your machine must be Indian while it might be American on a Azure. Typically we should not write any code which would consider any machine level settings to assume anything. For example we should not use DateTime.ToString() because it's result would be different on different machines. Furthermore if you are using date-time picker you can change date format there. In addition as a side note within application always use date format yyyy-mm-dd which is neutral to all countries. Use formats like dd-mm-yyyy for the purpose of display only. Hope you get the point.
