Gridview Data Loading Problem in ASP.Net

Question

Hi I want to load data in gridview (at least 500000 records) without use paging if any way to load data in gridview in fastest way without paging please tell me. Thanks and regards Sharad Gupta

i'm not sure why you want to show 500000 records in a single page. This seems very bad design. Other than that it will seriously impact the performance also. AFAIK there is no other way than (move the paging to procedure) this to improve the performance. So i suggest if you have problem with procedure then try to fix it. Try to create execution plan for that query in procedure so that you can know where the procedure takes long time in turn you can do performance tuneing in that query.

Dear Dipankar Biswas We have some issue in procedure  we can't change procedure that's why i am not able to do that with procedure(Paging). Have you any idea without procedure(paging).

Hi... A datagrid is limited by available system memory and you're likely running into that. Assuming a process address space of say 1.5GB that's about 4KB per datagrid row if you had nothing else consuming memory in your process. 4KB is not unreasonable assuming a dozen or so wide columns. You're trying to display too many rows at once.
