Gridview error plzz help

Question

The error i am getting for the below code is:
Cannot implicitly convert System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRow to System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridView

The code is as below:

protected void GridView1_SelectedIndexChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {
        GridView row = GridView1.SelectedRow;
        strv1 = row.Cells[1].Text;

    }
Am i missing out any namespace... PLZZZ HELP

Suchitra I remember i already replied your same post couple of days ago. On SelectedIndexChanged you cannot call this property. Change your code like below. strv1 = GridView1.Rows[GridView1.SelectedIndex].Cells[1].Text;

Suthish said  you need to use GridViewRow class  and that is very easy to see if you  look at the GridView.SelectedRow Property's documentation  as I said. The SelectedRow Property returns a GridViewRow but your code was assigning the SelectedRow Property to a GridView not a GridViewRow.

for example if you are calling any dataset then you have to recive the result in dataset only just like that. Dataset ds=method.Dataset(); same as GridViewRow row= GridView1.SelectedRow;
