GUID

Question

Can any one tell me why i would need i GUID in my project.

I see it is in the properties of my project under Application/Assembly information.

Do i need to make sure this is unique for every project i create. I usually use one project as my starting point for all projects and build from this as it has common code in it.

It's generated automatically in case your project needs to be exposed to COM i.e. its ComVisible attribute is set to true. This isn't usually the case but it does no harm to leave it in your AssemblyInfo.cs file. By their nature GUIDs can be regarded (to all intents and purposes) as unique so you have no worries on that score.
