you may have error in the query.. in the insert command may be the field is date/time and if its date tym then you have to pass the date/time variable with it variable orditemdate you have to declare as DateTime and the textbox values convert in date.time orditemdate = Convert.ToDateTime( orditemdatetxt.Text.ToString() );
