Question

There are several issues but basically it doesn't display because you're using a listbox which is not suitable for this kind of output. We need to increment lastCardIndex so that each time a card is drawn it's a unique card. If we didn't do that we'd be drawing the first card in the deck each time. num is a random number between 1 and 52; it will never be zero and so we can safely deduct one so that it is zero-based rather than one-based. In the console based version of this program we specified that: card 1 was Ace of Clubs card 2 was Ace of Diamonds card 3 was Ace of Hearts card 4 was Ace of Spades card 5 was Deuce of Clubs and so on. The mathematics here is figuring out what the suit is (a number between 0 and 3) from the card number and then using that number to get the string equivalent from the suits array. The best way to convince yourself it works is to work it through for a few card numbers. I assure you it all makes sense to the computer :)

To do the replay thing remove this line from button1_Click: deal = 0; // start again on next button click and replace it with these: button1.Enabled = false; DialogResult dr = MessageBox.Show(Want to play again? Replay MessageBoxButtons.YesNo); if (dr == DialogResult.Yes) { button1.Enabled = true; deal = 0; // start again on next button click } If they don't want to play again and you want to close the application at that point just add: else this.Close(); A new line in Windows is supposed to be

I mean that rather than clearing the old code and pasting the new code in you've gone through the old code line by line and altered it where needed.

It shouldn't do - it should show all 26. However if you click the button again after that it will erase the previous deals and start again with a new batch of 26 deals. If you've altered the code in a piecemeal fashion I'd check that you've using: outputTextBox.Text += temp; rather than: outputTextBox.Text = temp;

Vulpes thank you so much but now there's another problem when i click play it new deal erases the old deal but I want the old deal to be visible as well. So all 26 deals are visible and i can just scroll back and forth pretty much like before.
