The last one 1000 and then 1001 and then 1002 and so on

which part of this ID - f1-5692/r01/1000 has to be incremented ? If you are looking to increment the last part ie: 1000 then the below code will work for you . string oldID =  f1-5692/r01/1000  ; string idInc = oldID . Split ( '/' ). Last (); int newID = Int32 . Parse ( idInc ) +1 ; string [] oldIDArray = oldID . Split ( '/' ); oldIDArray [ oldIDArray . Length - 1 ] = newID . ToString (); string newIncID = string . Join (  /   oldIDArray ); Console .
