hi i'm working on visual studio 2005 asp.net vb langauge i have a default.aspx and i add a xml file called file1.xml and i have a button in defualt.aspx i want to generate file1.xml when i click on the button. this is my problem and i'll be gald if u help me.

Here is Coding What u want .. Just Create Object of Stream Writer provide File name with path u want to create and Pass FileMode.Create as Argument Protected Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim filename As String = d:\file1.xml Dim sw As StreamWriter sw= New StreamWriter(filename FileMode.Create) sw.Close() End Sub Thanks Regards  Kirtan
