How can get Previous item in list using foreach loop?

Question

I have a list

var _PublicHoliday = _db.tbl_HolidayMasters.Where(x => x.IsDelete == false).ToList();

and i am geting each item using foreach loop

foreach (var objPublicHoliday in _PublicHoliday)

{

if ((Convert.ToDateTime(DateTo.Text).AddDays(1)).Equals(objPublicHoliday.HolidayDate))

{

todate = Convert.ToDateTime(todate).AddDays(1).Date.ToShortDateString();

flagHoliday = 1;

}

Whenever I moved next holiday date the how can get previous holiday date in list?

Sandeep the best way will be to store the previous value in a temporary variable. For ex - DateTime prevHoliday = DateTime.MinValue foreach(var o in list) { //Do whatever prevHoliday = o; } In every iteration you will get previous holiday in prevHoliday variable.

You can't really do this with 'foreach' which can only move in a forward direction. It's better to use 'for' instead which enables you to use the list's indexer property: for (int i = 0; i { var objPublicHoliday = _PublicHoliday[i]; // etc } If i > 0 you can now refer to the previous holiday date in the list with _PublicHoliday[i - 1].
