How can I change the color of text and background in C#?

Question

Hi I mean I want to make a windows form in C# like below: this is my form color: color number (0 - 255) (for example if all of the color number get 0 except green the text will be green and the contrast color (red) will be background color) Note: the green and blue and red that were shown below are labels and the numbers in front of labels are text box which can be changed and the text which is green is a text box which must have contrast color with the background color . For example: green 255 blue 0 Text red 0

Hi Joe -- @ Hi Thank you for your answers but the error it gives me for lines that are highlighted is this: Message.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(red green blue); 'System.windows.forms.Message' does't contain a definition for forecolor . -- You have to use the control name where Message depicts class here. If you have to change the ForeColor or BackColor of label or a textbox use the following snippet ControlName.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(255 red green blue) where ControlName is the name of your label or textbox. Hi Joe As per your error shown in red color the ARGB function takes 4 parameters including alpha red green blue. You had passed only 3 parameters Message.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(red green blue); Use instead Message.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(255 red green blue); It will rectify your error. However you can use centralized event for better code maintainability if you are writing same snippets for 3 times. Moreover your function for inverting color is ok you can also change the sequence of rgb to invert the color like Label1.BackColor= Color.FromArgb (255 green blue red); If you have to change the backcolor of your form don't use the classname of your form use this.Backcolor instead Do let us know if it solves your problem and do accept the correct answer to close the thread.

@Joe As already mentioned you cannot use class or struct. Message is a struct and that cannot be used to change the color. ControlName.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(255 red green blue) where ControlName is the name of your label or textbox. As your current code is working fine.

Thank you very much for your answer but the problem is not the number of the parameters the problem is this: Message.ForeColor = Color.FromArgb(255 red green blue); error: 'System.windows.forms.Message' does't contain a definition for forecolor . the problem is that forecolor is not defined although I have used using System.windows.forms  so do you think why it is not defined ? by the way I used this.backcolor instead form1.backcolor and problem get solved.
